Mayfair Hotel, Ascend Hotel Collection

If you don't spend a lot of time in hotel, this Hotel is actually quite good , cozy and relatively quiet.

Pros- Location...right in the heart of the theater district. Less than a block from the A and C subway station and a block from the 1 subway. Cheap eats are across the street at the Food Emporium (groceries and deli). Staff...very accommodating and friendly. The lobby is panelled in wood and very comfortable. Value...Compared to the name brand hotels in the area, this place is a real bargain if you can tolerate a less than pristine environment. Cons- This hotel is long in the tooth. It's well worn carpet, scuffed wallpaper and wood in need of a new finish makes this place a bit shabby. The bedrooms I've stayed in have had burned out lights and broken fixtures, but mostly clean. The rooms are really small, but have their own clean bathroom. Sometimes the central heat is on the warm side. It has one of the smallest elevators I've seen. Overall- I love the location to the theaters and how close the subway station is. The E train is a convenient connection to JFK airport.

Eberyiine on staff was awesome except for the manager Joe , he turned off online booking just so I couldn't ( yes specifically me) couldn't book online, so he could lie after legit 4 nights of us staying there and say they were sold out. We were in the city for my wife's medical issues. The managers name is Joe and had a personal hard on for me, the legit whole staff loved me and I was told by 2 front desk agents he had it out for me, and they weren't sure why. This was the night before we left. We left the next day and they purposely forgot our wake up call for 11, got a call from them at 1:37 pm while still asleep, woke up in a panic started packing and my girl went into a seizure as I went to grab her I tripped over something and fell and gave myself a black eye. HE called the room , I EXPLAINED about seizure my wife had and how I hit my eye, he then told me we HAD 10 min to be out of the hotel, yes you read this right! He refused to allow me to fIll out a report
