Great Hotel in Koror
It's not on or near the ocean, but Palau Central Hotel is a great option for your first night in Palau, or even your entire stay. The rooms are modern, functional, and well furnished. The bed is especially comfortable, really nice sheets. The bathroom is awesome: tub, shower, and bidet toilet. There's a very cute pool, but not much shade in the pool area. The breakfast isn't a huge spread, but well done. Get the omelette, it's delicious. The on-site restaurant/bar is tiki themed and surprisingly fun. I suspect it's the best bar in Koror, guessing by the popularity with locals. Palau Central Hotel exceeded all my expectations.

Great Boutique Hotel
Everything about the Palau Central exceeds exceptions. The rooms are modern and clean, and the beds are really nice, especially the soft sheets. The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating , fixing an error I made on the reservation quickly with no hassle. There's a cute tiki bar on premise with fairly good food, though I only tried one dish. I was very happy with my stay here. PS - get an omelette at the free breakfast. It might be the best omelette I've eaten at a hotel, including many 5-star hotels. Outstanding.
