MASCOS HOTEL Masuda Onsen

We love staying here for the excellent restaurant on-site (make reservations for dinner) and lovely relaxing onsen on-site. The location in the town is a little odd as we haven’t found much to do in a close walkable distance, but there is a lot to do within a short drive.

This modern hotel was a delightful find. It is still very new. The wooden deco gives a great sense of relaxation. Staff were helpful and friendly. Special note to, I believe his name was Yuki. He is from Masuda but lived in Vancouver for years. Extremely helpful and pleasant. The room was lovely and bed was extremely comfortable. Very nice modern styled onsen. Special mention to the restaurant. Food was exquisite. Did not expect this at all. So much choice, quite difficult to decide. Fantastic mix of ingredients. Well worth visit even if you are not staying at the hotel. From here it was an easy walk to the station for a day trip to the fabulous town of Tsuwano.
