瑪特蘇波庫裡旅館

The staff were so wonderfully kind and friendly. They let us leave our luggage there while we went skiing after checking out and gave us coupons for the local hot springs. The location is very convenient—close to the bus terminal, restaurants, and the ski resort. Breakfast was included and was tasty. The outside of the building and the hallways are deceptive—the facilities inside were so clean and cozy! The room was warm and spacious and has fresh, new tatami flooring. It felt so relaxing to come back to our room after hitting the hot springs. Bathrooms are not private but are clean.

The family owners were nice and helpful, but I was surprised by how rundown the rooms and facilities are. Rooms are pretty bare minimum, ofuro- bath room felt like the family bath with dentures and all; you need to walk up outside steps with luggage to get to checking that were quite icy. And up two more flights to get to our room. Also they only took cash which we didn’t know. But they have free coupons for nearby Onsen and the included breakfast was really good. I think if your expectations are realistic it’s fine.
